How do I make a copy of a Pageset in CoughDrop?
You can make a copy of any pageset you have permission to access, including your own personal pagesets and any pagesets that other authors have made public. Copies will maintain a link back to the original pageset for attribution purposes.
Copying a Pageset
When you are looking at someone else's pageset or a saved pageset in the system, you can open the drop-down menu under 'more' and select 'make a copy' to copy the pageset. A new window will open. You can then make several selections regarding the new copy of the pageset.
You can select:
- A new name for the pageset
- Which user you would like to have a copy of the pageset (if you are a supervisor)
- If you would like to share your copy of the pageset with your supervisees
- Whether the pageset will be public or private
- If you'd like to translate the pageset into another language
- Whether to copy the full pageset or just the selected page and whether to keep or delete the connections from this page to other pages.
Copying Linked Pagesets
Copying linked pagesets means making a copy of the pageset you are on and all pages linked to that pageset. Having your own copy of the full pageset means you own each page connected to the main pageset so you can edit each connected page.
Copying Just This Page
Copying just this page means making your own copy of just this one page. If you select this option, you can also choose whether to delete the connections to additional pages connected via speech buttons or to keep the connections but connect to the original pageset, not your copy. This would mean the main pageset would be your copy and could be edited, but connected pages would still link to the original pageset, which belonged to the original owner of the pageset. You cannot edit pages owned by another user unless you are that user's supervisor and you have edit ability on their account.
Note Username to Know Page Owner
The username listed in the pages title will note the owner of this speech page. You will be able to edit any pages owned by your account. Your new copy of the pageset will show YOUR account username (or the username of the supervisee for whom you made a copy) in the pageset title.
Copying a Pageset vs. Sharing a Pageset
Keep in mind that copying a pageset and sharing a pageset are two different system functions. Copying a pageset means making your own, personal copy of the selected pageset. Sharing a pageset means more than one account shares one single pageset so changes to the pageset in one account will also show in the other account.
