Within CoughDrop you can customize the selected skin tone for many of the "person" graphics within the OpenSymbols & PCS premium symbols image libraries in the program. While this option is available for many images, it will not apply to all images and will depend on how the image has been created.

Set a preferred skin tone for your account
While you can edit the skin tone of an individual button, you can also assign a preferred skin to to your account to have that skin tone show up as the default option when you work with "person" graphics in the image library.
To assign a preferred skin tone, open the preferences page of your account by selecting "preferernces" from the drop-down menu under your user icon in the top right corner.

In the "general preferences" section under the "basics" heading, you can use the included meny to assign a preferred skin tone for images within your account.
This selected skin tone will become the default option displayed on "person" images when speech buttons are created for graphics in the OpenSymbols and some premium symbols libraries.
Even if you have selected a preferred skin tone, you can still adjust the skin tone of an individual speech button to reflect a custom skin tone for that image.
Be sure to save any changes you have made before you leave the preferences page.
Additional skin tone options
If you prefer to have the program display an array of skin tones on your speech buttons, you can assign that option on the preferences page as well.
On your preferences page, in the "preferred skin tone" menu you can select one of the options to apply a variety of skin tones to the buttons on your speech boards.
- Mix of Skin Tones: This option will display an equal distribution of all skin tones to the "person" images in your board sets.
- Limit Tones To: This option will display an equal distribution of the skin tones that you have selected for your account. You can select the desired skin tones and CoughDrop will assign those tones to the images within your board set.
- Show Preference For: This option will display images in all of the skin tones, but it increases the use of the preferred skin tone assigned to the account. That skin tone will be 3X as likely to show on a speech button as any other skin tone.
When you make changes to the preferred skin tones be sure to save any changes you make at the bottom of the preferences page.
