CoughDrop uses the text-to-speech engine of your device to generate voice output. Some buttons can have recorded audio but most will use text-to-speech. CoughDrop lets you select from any of the TTS voices that are provided by your current system. Voice settings are a per-device setting since they can vary across multiple devices and systems.

Change the voice for a communicator I supervise
You can adjust the assigned voice for a communicator you supervise by opening their preferences page.
You can reach the preferences page of someone you supervise by opening the "communicators" tab on your dashboard and then selecting "account" from the "extras" menu for the name of the communicator.
On the account page, select "preferences" from the options displayed or from the menu at the top of the screen (depending on the type of device you are using). You can verify whose preferences page you are viewing by noting the name and user icon displayed in the top left of the preferences screen as seen here.
On the communicator's preferences page, scroll down to the "device preferences" section and select "voice settings." Choose the voice you want to use for the account and then save your changes at the bottom of the page. If you will be using a premium voice, you may need to download the premium voice on that device before it can be used. Learn more about that option in the support article on premium voices.
Be sure to save any changes you make at the bottom of the preferences page before you leave.
