How do I access the keyboard interface in CoughDrop?

CoughDrop offers a keyboard interface for spelling out complex or unique words. The keyboard also provides an autocomplete feature to suggest word completion for greater efficiency. Users are also free to create their own custom keyboards for use within CoughDrop. As of right now custom keyboards cannot be added to the user sidebar, but we definitely want to add that functionality in the future!

You'll be able to spell out words and then return to your Home board interface to resume communication. You can also make the keyboard your home board if desired.

Typing From a Connected Keyboard

You can choose to type directly into your CoughDrop vocalization box from a connected keyboard.  To do this, open your preferences page by selecting "preferences" from the drop-down menu under your user icon in the top right corner of many CoughDrop pages.

In the "general preferences" section look for a heading which reads "startup and extras." Open that menu and check the box labeled "external keyboard" to enable this option.  Be sure to save your changes at the bottom of the page.
