CoughDrop offers demonstration accounts for those who regularly work with AAC communicators to find the right AAC fit for them. These accounts can be purchased for a one-time fee of $45 USD.
Demo accounts are designed to allow access to CoughDrop's features and functions for a period of time and then the account can be cleared and reset so the next communicator can use the account for a new evaluation.
CoughDrop does offer a free 2-month trial to any new user, so some communication teams use that free trial as the evaluation for a communicator. The communicator can set their own username and create speech boards and adjust settings to fit their needs during that trial.
However, some schools, groups, and teams like to retain evaluation accounts for loan library devices, clinic options, or lending opportunities.
In cases like this, a CoughDrop demonstration account can be a good fit.
Set up a Demo Account
You can create an evaluation account through the CoughDrop website. Choose "register" from the menu options at the top of the screen.
On the registration page, enter your desired username, email, and password and then select "evaluation/assessment device" from the available account types listed.
Purchase Demonstration Account Access
Your account will begin with a free 2-month trial, just like any other account. However, you can purchase the evaluation option at any time. First, log into your CoughDrop account through our website at mycoughdrop.com. Demonstration accounts must be purchase through the CoughDrop website.
Once logged in, open the drop-down menu under your user icon in the top right corner and select "my account."
On your account page, choose "billing" from the options on the left of the page.
On the billing page, hit the button ot update the billing settings.
Finally, choose the evaluation account option and then hit the "updated account" option at the bottom of the page.
Link your Demonstration account(s) to a supervisor
Many loan or lending libraries have multiple AAC devices that are used for evaluations. When that is the case, it is often helpful to link those demonstration accounts to a supervisor so the accounts can be managed from that one supervisor login rather than on each individual demo account (although you are also welcome to do that).
A supervisor can view all the accounts they manage from their own dashboard and can reset, extend, or support these demonstration accounts as needed.
To connect your supervisor account to one or more demonstration accounts, open the demo account in CoughDrop. For privacy reasons, supervisors must be added from within the existing demonstration account.
Once logged in, hit the "supervisors" tab on your CoughDrop dashboard or on your account page.
Now, enter the supervisor's username and select the access level that supervisor should have (most will be given edit ability so they can create boards and adjust settings for those they supervise).
