CoughDrop and Forbes AAC have teamed up to present an AAC option that can be accessed RIGHT NOW even while you are still going through the process to get an AAC device approved.
Practitioners and communicators can access clinically developed boards on any tablet, PC or smartphone - without having to wait for funding.

Partnering for AAC immediate access
The funding process for a dedicated AAC device can be difficult to maneuver. While Forbes AAC has worked hard to create a streamlined funding portal making support and approval quicker and easier, the application still takes some time.
We don't want a communicator to be left without a way to speak while caseworkers are evaluating their application.
To eliminate this concern, CoughDrop and Forbes have partnered to offer the option to immediately access CoughDrop as well as versatile and customized speech boards available only to Forbes AAC users while working through the funding process.

How does AAC Now! work?
AAC supporters like therapists and assistive technology specialists can register for an AAC Now! account and add CoughDrop to the resources they can share with communicators.
When a communicator submits their application for a Forbes AAC device, they will be given a free CoughDrop account with full access to Forbes premium board sets.

This account will remain active even if, in the end, we cannot obtain approval for the Forbes device for some reason. The communicator will retain their CoughDrop account and premium board access and can continue to use those boards on their own device.
While funding application and evaluation takes place, the communicator can use their CoughDrop account on their own available device like an iPad, smartphone, Chromebook, laptop, desktop, Kindle, or Fire tablet.
Once the Forbes AAC device is approved, it will be delivered to the communicator who can log in to EXACTLY the same CoughDrop account they have already been using and continue to use the speech boards and settings they've already assigned making the transition to the new device smooth and simple.
