CoughDrop offers several features which will adjust the way users navigate speak mode. You can learn more about speak mode settings and options in this support article.
By default, in speak mode CoughDrop will return a communicator to his or her home page when an unlinked button is pressed. This feature helps users more quickly navigate a communication set because they do not need to press additional buttons to access their primary page which often contains their most used speech buttons.
However, if you would like to have the program stay on boards you open until you choose to navigate away from them, you can make that adjustment.

Change Preference to Stay on Current Page
If you open the drop-down menu under your username and select "preferences" you will see a page of settings.

In the "selection settings" section under the "on select" heading there is an option that reads, "automatically return to home board after an unlinked button is selected."
You can un-check that box which will alter the speak mode function allowing users to leave a page only when they specifically choose to navigate elsewhere.
Be sure to save your changes at the bottom of the page to finalize your adjustments.

I know that coughdrop has colon commands, like :home will send the board to the home. is there a command where I could lock a board to stay on it where I could lock a board without clicking on the different commands. I just think my students would have an easier time being more independent clicking on a lock page button that would do the command rather than only being able to click on their picture, and stay on that page. Does that make sense?
